Nocto is built to keep your data on your Mac. There is no account, no analytics and no tracking. This page explains exactly what the app reads, what it stores and the few times it goes online.
Who we are
Nocto is made by Dayans Group ("we", "us"). Questions about privacy: support@getnocto.app.
What stays on your Mac
- Music. The song, artist, artwork and playback position shown by macOS or by Music and Spotify. Used only to display and control playback.
- Calendar. Your upcoming events, read through macOS with your permission, to show meetings and their call links. Nocto never changes or uploads your calendar.
- Bluetooth. The names and battery levels of headphones you connect, to show them in the notch.
- Clipboard history. Off until you turn it on. When on, the things you copy are kept in memory and cleared when Nocto quits. Copies that password managers mark as private are never kept.
- Shelf. Files you put on the shelf stay where they are; Nocto remembers their location. Images, text and links you drop are saved in Nocto's folder on your Mac until you remove them.
None of this is sent to us or to anyone else.
When Nocto goes online
- License. When you activate a license, and about once a week after that, Nocto sends your license key and your Mac's name to Lemon Squeezy, our payment provider, to check that the key is valid and to count how many Macs use it.
- Updates. Nocto checks getnocto.app for new versions. The request includes the app version, as any web request does with your IP address. You can turn automatic checks off in Settings.
- Album artwork. When Spotify is playing, Nocto may download the cover image from Spotify's servers, just as the Spotify app does.
Payments
Purchases are handled by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the merchant of record. Lemon Squeezy collects your name, email, billing details and payment information to process the order, send your license key and handle taxes and refunds. We never see your card details. See the Lemon Squeezy privacy policy.
This website
getnocto.app uses no cookies, analytics or trackers. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses and requested pages, to run the site securely.
Your choices and rights
You can turn off clipboard history, update checks and each permission at any time in Nocto's settings or in macOS System Settings. Deleting the app removes its data from your Mac. To ask about, correct or delete the order data we hold, write to support@getnocto.app.
Children
Nocto is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update it here and change the date at the top.
